The Obsessive Honda Beat

Honda Beat NZ

Those of you who regularly visit the Obsessive Facebook page will know I have recently flown down to Queenstown and purchased a Honda Beat. The 800KM drive back to Picton was a hoot!

As the little Honda is to be a demo car I obviously have some plans for it,  so intend to post how the progress is going.

The alarm system is already installed. No small feat, it was a huge install which you can read about here.

The factory radio cassette player is actually smaller then DIN (normal size) so I had a challenge on my hands. There was no way I could fit a normal aftermarket system into the Honda without butchering the Dashboard. So after 3 weeks scratching my head and throwing ideas around my mate Tom suggested that I should look at marine audio. I ended up finding a Fusion radio, USB, Ipod ready system which was smaller then the normal car stuff.

Here are the finished photos:

Fusion Marine Audio… Much better that the horrid alarms they make!

Fusion MS-RA200, plus a separate Clock volt reader!

RDS (Rare in NZ) and a big volume button for my chunky fingers!

Note: This does not mean I am becoming a car stereo specialist. I have no intention of becoming a jack of all trades and a master of none!
