Keyless Entry With Flip Key

Many moons ago, long before social media was a thing, Mongoose actually made a good product. I know it’s had to believe but bear with me.

I wish that they still made it so I could say nice things about them. Sadly it was discontinued before I started the blog. therefor it never got a good plug here.

Lets travel back in time to 2005 when I first arrived in NZ and was working in Hamilton at Mobile Alarms on Te Rapa Road.

I was introduced to the Mongoose MRC200W remote.

I was a simple remote that could house a key blade. It worked with their MCL2000 Keyless entry system and it was great. It also worked with their M20 Alarm system, which was reasonably good too.

I get a warm a fuzzy thinking about the good old days before their remote controls were designed with built in obsolesce. These days it feels like you are forced to purchase a replacement on a regular basis.

When the MRC2000 went out of production, the Cyclops KE11 became my keyless entry system of choice.  It was a good basic reliable system, but it lacked the built in key option.

Well, I’ve found a good quality remote with a blade key that can work with KE11. Better still, it’s a flip key that can house a transponder chip.

If you have a KE-11, I can now supply you with a remote key that will work with it. Or fit and install the whole system. All you’ll need to do it get the right key blade cut and get it fitted into your new remote.

I know it’s a flip key and a tad old school now, but it’s some cool nostalgia.

If you like flip keys, it’s work checking out the Cyclops 661
