Isuzu D-Max security upgrades
Below is a breakdown of each generation of Isuzu D-Max, where I look at the existing factory fitted security and possible upgrades for each model.
3rd generation D-Max

D-Max factory security
The current version Isuzu D-Max (RG) has been available since 2019.
It comes with remote keyless entry, or smart-key push to start for the top specification model. It also comes with an immobiliser. But it does lack an alarm which I can add to work with the factory remote.
Recommended Isuzu D-Max Alarm Upgrade
The Vodafone Automotive 4822 Upgrade alarm is my go to alarm for the D-Max.
It integrates with the factory remote locking and comes in a range of options depending on what level of security you need. Expect the horn to be wired up as standard.
Below are some images of the ultrasonic internal movement sensors and the alarm LED installed into the D-Max

Load area security
If you have a canopy on the back then a PIR sensor can be added to the alarm to cover the load area.
I can also add remote locking to the tailgate which is not a factory option. This costs about $250.00 or $400.00 if installed with a Remote Double Tap Module which unlocks the tailgate with a 2nd press of the remote unlock button.
Mazda BT-50 alarm & security

Gen 3 BT-50 2020 -
The current version of the Mazda BT-50 was released in 2020. It is based on the D-Max so all of the security details that apply to the Isuzu also apply to the Mazda.
The previous version of the BT-50 was based on the Ford Ranger which I also have an upgrade alarm option for.
2nd generation D-Max

No factory alarm in the gen 2 D-Max
The 2nd generation D-Max comes with an immobiliser and remote locking, but lacks an alarm.
A good upgrade alarm that works with the factory remote control is my recommendation. Again the Vodafone Automotive 4822 is a good choice. Historically I have fitted plenty of these with the old Cobra AK4615.
Many of these are used as work vehicles so if you have a canopy and keep tools in the back then adding a PIR sensor is a must.

1st generation D-Max

Immobiliser and remote locking as standard
The 1st generation D-Max as a factory immobiliser and remote keyless entry. Again it lacks any form of alarm system.
A PLIP upgrade alarm is possible if the original remote controls are still functioning.
It is also possible to install an alarm with new remote controls, plus an additional immobiliser. The factory security is easy to get around so would benefit from an additional layer.
Holden Rodeo (2003-2008)

Holden Rodeo security
The last generation of the Holden rodeo was based on the first generation D-Max.
Whilst there were some minor styling changes then security system is the same as that in the RA Isuzu D-Max.
