Honest Vehicle Security Advice

I’ve always believed in being upfront with people. It’s not always the easiest path, but it’s the right one. If you ever need vehicle security advice, I’m here to help, I’m not just in it for a quick sale.
When you’re spending your hard-earned money, the person or company you deal with should have integrity. Unfortunately, much of the vehicle security industry in New Zealand falls short of that standard.
There are brands of alarms I refuse to install because I know they have serious flaws, or because the importers aren’t being honest about certifications and standards. Yet many competitors continue to sell them anyway.
I prefer to treat people with respect. I’m not out to criticise others in the industry, but I’m also not comfortable watching misinformation go unchallenged.
Here are some examples where I’ve spoken up, questioning misleading claims, or highlighting vulnerabilities that needed to be addressed:

What qualifications do NZSA installers have?
What is required to become a NZSA registered installer?

5 Star Car Alarm Sirens
Let me bring the following quotation from the NZSA website to your attention:
“If the alarm is sounding because it has detected an intrusion, a thief will try to silence the alarm by cutting the siren wires. Battery back-up sirens are designed to sound on their own if any wires running to it are cut or disconnected.”
Can your alarm remote be cloned?
Would it disturb you to know how easy it is for most alarms to have a remote cloned without your knowledge?
All I need to program a remote without your knowledge is; access to a working remote and your vehicle?.
