How to change the batteries in your Autowatch 225-000 remote

The peanut remote takes 2 CR1220 coin-type batteries.

These should last for about 3 years with normal use, but I’ve known them to last much longer.

Most supermarket and hardware stores keep these batteries in stock.

Instructions for changing the batteries

Changing Your Autowatch remote batteries
Opening the Autowatch Remote

To access the batteries in your Autowatch peanut remote you’ll need a small Philips screwdriver.

Remove the two screws that hold the case together, then turn the remote so the button faces upwards before opening.

Make a note of which way the batteries are installed and replace them with new ones (if you mess this bit up then use the following photo as a reference).

Please recycle your old batteries.

Putting the remote back together and testing

Replace the screws and test the remote. If the LED lights up you have the batteries in the correct way.

Test the remote with the alarm to confirm that that it still arms and disarms as per normal.

Remote Cases

If your remote is not looking good then I recommend replacing the case before it fails.

If the TAC switch inside the remote has fallen out then a new remote will be require as replacement case will not magically make the remote work again. (Yes I’ve been asked this before!)
